The church is called to be a community marked by active love for one another and for the surrounding city. This means that everyone who attends Grace Downtown has a role both giving and receiving care. As we walk together, our congregation looks for opportunities to shoulder other people’s burdens and expects that the church community will gladly participate in our own needs when they arise.

Grace Downtown’s Diaconate provides leadership in meeting our church’s and city’s practical needs, and in equipping you to love your neighbors well. In addition to forming partnerships with outside organizations, the Diaconate leads a number of initiatives meant to make God's love and mercy felt in practical ways.

Mercy Team

Hosts weekly Sunday-afternoon meals and small group discussion.

Affordable Housing

Participates in our city's ongoing discussion about affordable housing and partners with Habitat for Humanity to build new housing units throughout the city.

Deacon’s Fund

Provides for the practical needs of our church members and our neighbors.
