Biography

Summary/short version: “Unprofitable servant.”

 

Occupation: Planted Christ Our Shepherd Church, in Washington, DC in May 1987, where he has continued to serve as a teaching elder, but now is more part of the church’s mission. He is a Senior Teaching Fellow of the C.S Lewis Institute (http://www.cslewisinstitute.org) and International Director of ASK Network (http://www.asknetwork.net), an international prayer movement serving nearly 40 nations.  He works inter-denominationally and has a particular passion for the training of the next generation of pastors, regardless of nation or culture. He is committed to spiritually fathering a new generation of local church-planting pastors in the DC area

 

Education: M.A. (Honors) Cambridge University, England (English Literature and Theology)

Post-Graduate Certificate of Education, Cambridge University.

 

Church Affiliation: Evangelical/Charismatic. We are autonomous but not independent, and relate with Messenger Fellowship International, a relational and ordinational network, but also in close relationship with a diverse gathering of pastors (over 100) in Washington DC.

 

Credentials: After several years in public education in England (Head of English), ordained in 1980 and pastored at Calvary Community Church in San Jose California from 1980-1984; at Christ Church of Washington 1984-1987; planted Christ Our Shepherd Church in Washington DC in 1987 where he currently worships and works. He has continued to minister in missions contexts in over 40 nations during this time, teaching for other organizations like Youth With A Mission, Mercy Ships, Ellel Ministries etc.

Personal: Married to Celia, who is the co-International Director of ASK Network, that collaborates with national and global intercessory movements, gathering the generations to pray for the nations. They have six children ages 42-28, and ten grandchildren.
