We are excited to welcome Debby Jaggard as the Director of Children's Ministry at Grace Downtown.

Debby has moved into this role after five months as the Operations and Communications Coordinator. She has been a member of Grace Downtown since 2016, having moved from Baltimore. Debby, Aaron, and their almost 3-year-old and 15 months old live east of the river in Ward 8.

Debby has a BS in Community, Youth, and Family Sciences from the University of Florida and an MA in Biblical Studies from Reformed Theological Seminary. She was the Director of Children's Ministry at Chapelgate Church and the Assistant Director of Children's Ministries at Orangewood Presbyterian Church. Debby has written curriculum for early elementary students, has led large and small group Bible studies for women of all ages, and has been teaching the Toddler class for our 2-3 year-olds this past year. She has also directed VBS and produced a variety of ministry events, including special focus camps and community outreach events. Her most recent position outside of Grace Downtown was with Stericycle in the management of all waste streams from local hospitals. Debby managed teams and facilities through MD, DC, and VA.

During the current pandemic, Debby is looking at all aspects of children's ministry with regard to where we want our children to be once they enter middle school. She is gathering a committee to help work out these questions and to champion the Children's Ministry throughout the entire congregation. Currently, Debby is working with the Grace DC Network Children's Ministry teams to create a Virtual VBS on Faithful Friendships.
