WLC Seeking Member Recommendations

The Women's Leadership Council exists to bring women of Grace Downtown together to cultivate spiritual growth, foster meaningful friendships, and affirm their unique role in bringing about God's kingdom. 

We are beginning the process of adding new members to the council, and we need your help!  

Here is the process for adding new members:  

  • The WLC has formed a search committee for this process of WLC members Jhamirah Howard and Christina Marie Chambers and Downtown members Catherine Smith and Traci Spackey.
  • Next, members of the Grace Downtown community will share names of women whom they would like to recommend for the WLC to the search committee.
  • From there, the search committee will prayerfully deliberate and present a slate of women to the session for approval. This group of women will be trained and will join the WLC in the following months. 

Here's how you can help: 

  • First and foremost, please pray!  Pray that the Lord will provide clear direction for the search committee and that He will bring the right women to serve in this new season.  
  • Secondly, please reach out to the search committee using this linked form to recommend women in our congregation for the role. Women and men are encouraged to prayerfully recommend women for the WLC!   

 

Recommendations must be received by February 10, 2024. 

 

Candidates will be considered based on the following criteria:

  • Have been Christian believers for at least 3 years
  • Have been members of Grace Downtown for at least 1 year
  • Exhibit leadership qualities as demonstrated, for example, by holding a leadership position in a Grace Downtown ministry
  • Demonstrate strengths in the three mission areas (see above)
  • Participate in the life of the Grace Downtown community (e.g., CGs, young adults ministry, faith and work, CQ, mom’s group, etc.)
  • Represent with other WLC members a diversity of perspectives in such areas as race and ethnicity, age and life stage, ministry involvement, and geographic representation throughout the city.
  • Support the vision and doctrine of Grace Downtown
